WASHINGTON, DC - The Innovation Alliance, a coalition of technology companies seeking to enhance America's innovation environment by improving the quality of patents and protecting the integrity of the U.S. patent system, today applauded the Senate's unanimous approval of David J. Kappos as the next Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property, and Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Today's Senate vote will hopefully signal a new beginning for the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. The Innovation Alliance shares Mr. Kappos' goal of revitalizing the USPTO so that it works more efficiently to promote U.S. innovation leadership.
